Wallpaper

A couple of weeks ago in Barnes&Nobles  I run into the prints by some local photographer . The photographs were pretty standard for this area - DC places of interest.  There was only  one photograph that grabbed my attention, a cityscape of Georgetown which really captured something about that place. That print inspired me to go to Georgetown and look at it again. I was pleasantly surprised. I realized that  the beauty of the place is almost nothing unless the place reminds me about something or someone. There are some places in Gtown that really scream about something in my past, however there are also some spots that I will start missing  very soon.
It is considered something almost shameful for artsy people - just taking pretty pictures of places but hey, we are just humans ;) Let's forgive ourselves this little weakness

The Klezmatics

Actually this occurred this Summer while I was interning with the photographer Lloyd Wolf. On June 10, 2010 he photographed sound check of the folk band The Klezmatics  down at Jewish Cultural Center downtown DC. They were preparing for the show later that night as a part of Washington Jewish Music Festival. The sound check by itself was quite impressive, so the show that I unfortunately could not attend must have been just grand. Klezmatics' distinct style and high professionalism won Grammy, they traveled all over the states and most part of Europe, and recorded about ten albums of unique Yiddish music.

Blown Away

Hello world!
Want you to know about my presence. I like watching you and capturing you, so you have a chance see yourself from my perspective. You'll see it'll be fun and I promise, sometimes you won't be able to recognize yourself. Breath deep and enjoy ;-)
Today I have been at Freer&Sackler Gallery to gather some information for my history class and run into a show of Amsterdam based artist Fiona Tan. I was completely blown away by her video installations. Still overwhelmed I went across the National Mall to National Art Gallery. What I like about it the best is that I never remember how to get from one building to the other, so it takes time...Finally I found myself at the Cascade Cafe. I always reflect on events that have made a strong impression on me like Fiona Tan's exhibition. Video is definitely to be explored.
